Job Search

Amit Puri on July 21st, 2010

As a job seeker you might face the situation of being rejected for a job, despite the fact that you are overqualified and would be able to easily carry out the job well. This is quite a common situation and from the company’s perspective, they are wary of hiring someone who’s overqualified because they won’t be satisfied, might show vanity and in addition leave the company within a brief span of time. There’s academic research on the subject that does back this concern and shows that staff who view themselves as overqualified are more likely to be less happy and have larger turnover rate.

Classified Advertising is a type of advertising mostly seen in newspapers, on the internet, and periodicals. Unlike conventional advertising done by only companies and businesses, classifieds allow anyone from individuals to small groups to advertise. This means that anyone offering an item or some service for sale like a car, beanbag or even a massage can advertise in the classifieds. In some cases, classifieds are even used to look for prospective spouses.

What are green job recruiters and do they make it easier to land the green collar jobs that are available? Ecological concerns have brought these jobs to the high end of the list. The term refers to a very wide range of jobs that require all kinds of different prerequisites. Learning what types of jobs are available for you can be helpful through a recruiter, but only if you have some sort of education or experience in the field.
